Cooper Kabela turned in another strong performance on Thursday.
This time Kabela had plenty of help from his West Branch teammates.
Beau Cornwell had a season-high 19 points to go with 18 from Kabela as West Branch improved to 3-1 with a 57-35 win at West Liberty on Thursday.
Ben Thompson added eight points for West Branch as the Bears moved to 3-1 in River Valley Conference play.
Cornwell had seven assists and four steals to go with his game-high 19 points while Kabela grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
West Branch jumped to a 17-7 lead after the opening quarter and never let the Comets back in the game.
Freshman Tanner Lukavsky had eight steals and four assists for West Branch while Thompson and Ted Bridges each added three assists in the win.
